Prisca Wharton talks about her new Law Society role
Being elected to represent the interests of trainee solicitors and students in the UK at the Law Society as a council member is an honour. I never thought I would be elected and I can’t wait to spend the next two years promoting issues which affect trainee solicitors and students on the legal practice course.
As a trainee myself, at Blunts Solicitors, I am now looking forward to passionately representing the interests of trainees and students. I will raise awareness of social mobility within the profession as well as ensure that the new changes to the qualification route will be smooth and benefit trainees. Other issues will include the minimum trainee solicitor’s salary and stress and mental health issues within the profession.
As the Junior Lawyers Division’s representative for the Law Society I believe I can make a real difference to both trainees and students and I will do so with passion, enthusiasm and determination.
